| You Stopped National Legislation on Carrying Concealed Weapons!
Dear Friend,
You did it! Thank you!
You helped stop the gun lobby's legislation that would have forced states to allow dangerous individuals to carry loaded guns in public.
This outrageous legislation would have reduced the gun laws in nearly all states to the "lowest common denominator" of the states with the weakest laws.
We could not have defeated the National Rifle Association without your calls to your Senators and your tremendous support.
With your support, we were able to act quickly to get critical information to your Senators about this harmful legislation. Your support helped us to reach dozens of newspapers across the country to get editorials opposing the Thune amendment that helped sway legislators.
We were able to coordinate quickly and effectively with our allies on the Hill, law enforcement, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, and other partners in the gun violence prevention movement.
We were able to do it all because of you and your continued commitment to keep dangerous guns out of the hands of dangerous people.
Now we look forward to working with you to move a positive agenda forward to protect you, your family and your community from gun violence.
With your help, we will be working just as hard to require Brady criminal background checks on all gun sales, starting with closing the gun show loophole. I hope you will help again by contacting your legislators to urge them to close the gun show loophole.
Thank you again from all of us!
Sincerely,
